Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to quote electrical equipment for residential, commercial, and small industrial projects.
• Answer quotes queries and route to the right department.
• Coordinate with suppliers; review quotes for distribution, lighting, and related products.
• Prepare quotes for new and existing customers and contractors.
• Confirm product availability and stock status.
• Recommend alternate products by cost, availability, or specs.
• Liaise between suppliers and customers to meet tender deadlines.
• Clarify engineering specs, plans, and addenda.
• Coordinate with plumbing and heating teams for opportunities.
• Maintain project documents and enter details in shared networks.
• Process orders, quotes, and returns accurately.
• Review quotes for errors or omissions.
• Stay current with product knowledge on lighting and distribution.
• Educate customers on terminology, features, benefits.
• Prioritize urgent projects when possible.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Proactively identify opportunities to quote electrical equipment in Residential, Commercial & Small Industrial Projects
• Respond to customer and account manager queries related to Electrical project quotes and/or redirect the customer to the appropriate department
• Communicate project details, and obtain and review quotes from suppliers. Primarily for distribution & control products, lighting & lighting control, wire & cable, and rough-in products.
• Prepare and provide quotes for new and existing customers, contractors, and account managers
• Provide accurate information regarding the availability of in-stock items
• Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability, or specifications
• Liaise between suppliers’ reps and customers for all inquiries, lead, and delivery times, to meet tender deadlines
• Provide clarification on engineering specifications sheets, plans, contractor takeoffs, and addendums
• Coordinate with other departments, particularly plumbing and heating, for business opportunities
• Maintain project documents both physical and electronic versions
• Entering projects and details in shared networks and Google networks
• Accurately process customer transactions such as orders, quotes, or returns
• Review the quotes for errors or missed items
• Determine customer requirements and expectations to recommend specific products and solutions
• Stay current with up-to-date product knowledge of all electrical equipment primarily lighting and distribution
• Educate customers about terminology, features, and benefits of products to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction
• Identify trends in customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction
• Create PDF files of specification sheets, that are job-specific for project submittals and Owner operation manuals
• Prioritize projects of importance and/or urgent requests when possible
• Other responsibilities as assigned

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 2 years sales experience (counter sales, inside sales, or outside sales) required
• Knowledge of or previous experience in the Electrical wholesale industry required
• Previous experience and/or education in Project Management an asset
• Basic understanding of reading blueprints is required
