Job summary

Bartle & Gibson Co. is seeking an Electrical Quotations Specialist in Port Coquitlam to proactively quote electrical equipment for residential, commercial, and small industrial projects.

You’ll respond to customer queries, gather supplier quotes, and prepare accurate quotes for contractors and account managers. You will coordinate with suppliers and internal teams, maintain project documents, and stay current on lighting, distribution, and related products.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years sales experience (counter/inside/outside) required.
• Knowledge of electrical wholesale industry required.
• Project management experience is an asset.
• Basic understanding of reading blueprints is required.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to quote electrical equipment for residential, commercial and small industrial projects.
• Answer quotes inquiries and route to the correct department.
• Communicate project details and obtain quotes from suppliers for distribution, lighting, wire and cables.

Job description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Proactively identify opportunities to quote electrical equipment in Residential, Commercial & Small Industrial Projects
• Respond to customer and account manager queries related to Electrical project quotes and/or redirect the customer to the appropriate department
• Communicate project details, and obtain and review quotes from suppliers. Primarily for distribution & control products, lighting & lighting control, wire & cable, and rough-in products.
• Prepare and provide quotes for new and existing customers, contractors, and account managers
• Provide accurate information regarding the availability of in-stock items
• Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability, or specifications
• Liaise between suppliers’ reps and customers for all inquiries, lead, and delivery times, to meet tender deadlines
• Provide clarification on engineering specifications sheets, plans, contractor takeoffs, and addendums
• Coordinate with other departments, particularly plumbing and heating, for business opportunities
• Maintain project documents both physical and electronic versions
• Entering projects and details in shared networks and Google networks
• Accurately process customer transactions such as orders, quotes, or returns
• Review the quotes for errors or missed items
• Determine customer requirements and expectations to recommend specific products and solutions
• Stay current with up-to-date product knowledge of all electrical equipment primarily lighting and distribution
• Educate customers about terminology, features, and benefits of products to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction
• Identify trends in customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction
• Create PDF files of specification sheets, that are job-specific for project submittals and Owner operation manuals
• Prioritize projects of importance and/or urgent requests when possible
• Other responsibilities as assigned

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 2 years sales experience (counter sales, inside sales, or outside sales) required
• Knowledge of or previous experience in the Electrical wholesale industry required
• Previous experience and/or education in Project Management an asset
• Basic understanding of reading blueprints is required
