Job summary

Bartle & Gibson Co. is seeking a customer-focused associate to excel at counter service and over the phone inquiries. You will process orders, source materials when out of stock, and ensure a tidy, well-merchandised counter area. Building lasting customer relationships is a core part of the role.

The position emphasizes fast-paced teamwork, learning product knowledge, and contributing to a positive customer experience across Western Canada.

Job description

• Offering exceptional customer service at our counter and over the phone
• Responding to inquiries and processing incoming calls and orders
• Processing orders in the system
• Sourcing materials for customers when currently not in stock
• Consistent training and understanding of current products
• Developing and maintaining positive customer relationships
• Handling returns as required
• Keeping counter and sales area clean
• Merchandising and showcasing product
• Other duties as required

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Ability to develop long-term relationships and generate referrals from your customers
• Impeccable organizational skills with high attention to detail
• Time management & multitasking skills to serve several customers at the same time
• Self-motivated; able to function effectively both independently and as a member of a team
• Proven ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a fast-paced work environment

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Post-Secondary courses in Plumbing, Electrical or Heating are considered an asset
• Knowledge of the Plumbing, Electrical and Heating industry or a background in plumbing products would be considered an asset
