Job summary

Sandvik Mining is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to support Winnipeg operations. The role acts as a key EHS resource, driving compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement across workshops, warehouses, and remote services.

You will lead ICAM investigations, support ISO 14001/45001 audits, and promote safe work practices while delivering training and coordinating EHS systems for Canada’s Sales Area. On-site Winnipeg work is required.

Qualifications

  • Completed post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • Two to five years of relevant EHS experience; mining, construction, or oil and gas exposure is an asset.
  • Experience with EHS management systems and incident investigations using ICAM or similar.
  • Knowledge of job hazard analysis and risk assessment methods used in high-risk environments.
  • Understanding of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Support and lead studies, audits, and ICAM investigations to ensure compliance with EHS laws and regulations.
  • Support and communicate the EHS management system for Winnipeg operations and Sales Area Canada.
  • Support incident and hazard management processes for employees and supervisors.
  • Promote safety-conscious work practices and deliver training programs.
  • Monitor EHS legislation and communicate relevant changes to the workforce.
  • Support contractor management processes in Winnipeg and across Canada.
  • Participate in internal and external ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 audits.
  • Conduct job hazard analyses and risk assessments in high-risk situations.
  • Provide practical, hands-on EHS support to workshops, warehouses, remote services, and the Winnipeg assembly line.
