Job description

Our ACT Government client is hiring a highly capable Master Scheduler to join the organisation. This role will oversee and optimise scheduling processes across multiple projects, focusing on digitalisation efforts to improve user experience and deliver relevant skills in a modern manner. The role reports to a Program Director and involves establishing the integrated program schedule, resource pool, milestone reports, and other activities for the PMO.

Hourly Rate :

Between $115 to $130 + Super per hour.

Location :

Canberra (2617). In-Office / WFH Hybrid allowed.

Key Accountabilities :
  1. Develop and maintain a master program schedule aligned with organisational priorities and resource availability.
  2. Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate planning and execution of project timelines.
  3. Utilise scheduling software to track project progress and identify potential bottlenecks.
  4. Implement best practices in scheduling methodology to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  5. Conduct regular schedule reviews and updates, communicating changes effectively to stakeholders.
  6. Provide insights and recommendations for improving project workflows and timelines.
Mandatory Criteria :
  1. Knowledge of program management processes and procedures, especially the ability to run and administer third-party application systems supporting the PMO.
  2. Proven experience in developing detailed, complex program schedules, and delivering training and processes to support the use of established schedules.
  3. Practical experience working with technical teams delivering digital systems and reporting to senior stakeholders.
  4. Ability to model organisational cultural traits and ACT Public Service values and behaviours.
  5. Relevant qualifications such as PRINCE2, MSP.
  6. 5+ years of experience in scheduling or project management within complex organisational environments.
  7. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Smartsheet) and strong MS Excel skills for data analysis and visualisation tools for scheduling insights.

Candidates must be based in or near Canberra, willing to work on-site as required, and possess Australian Citizenship.
