Job summary

Pembina Trails School Division is seeking an IT Support Technician to maintain and troubleshoot a diverse computing environment across 36 schools and admin offices. The role includes on-site and remote support, hardware and software repairs, and collaboration with the Learning and Information Technologies team.

The ideal candidate will have a college diploma or degree in computer science, experience with multiple operating systems, and strong problem-solving and customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining and repairing stand-alone and networked computers, mobile devices, and other hardware peripherals.
• Proven ability to work with a wide variety of operating systems and software.

Responsibilities

• Receives, triages, and responds to all incoming IT Requests, calls, and/or e-mails regarding technical problems.
• Analyzes, diagnoses, and resolves complex problems for end users, and recommends and implements corrective actions as needed.
• Installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs technology hardware and peripherals.
• Installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs diverse system and application software.
• Tests, and troubleshoots network cabling, audio-visual systems, and other low voltage building systems.
• Collaborates with other technology staff to ensure efficient operation of the organization's computing environment.
• Assists in maintaining accurate records in IT requests, IT asset inventories (hardware and software), configuration documents, technical specifications, and troubleshooting records.
• Assists with the deployment of new hardware.
• Performs other duties as may be assigned to support the efficient operation of the Department
