Job summary

The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is seeking a Registered Early Childhood Educator to join our 10-month calendar. The role supports play-based learning for Kindergarten students under the direction of the Principal and works with teachers to extend learning beyond the classroom.

Requirements include a two-year ECE program, Ontario ECE registration, and at least one year of child care experience. DFA/PRC checks and immunizations are required for new hires.

Qualifications

• Two-year community college program in Early Childhood Education (or equivalent).
• Registration in good standing with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators is required.
• Minimum of one year of child care experience is required.
• Valid First Aid certification/CPR is required.
• Immunization Record with MMR and Tdap immunizations is required for OCDSB employees hired after Sept 1, 2022.
• Police Records Check for the Vulnerable Sector within last 6 months is required.

Responsibilities

• Support high quality, play-based education to promote cognitive, emotional, and social development for Junior and Senior Kindergarten students.
• Lead an extended before/after-school program for OCDSB students at designated elementary schools.
• Collaborate with the classroom teacher in daily activities and with staff to achieve learning goals.
