Job summary

Kids & Company is seeking a dedicated Early Childhood Educator to support young children in a dynamic learning environment. The role focuses on implementing emergent curriculum, maintaining daily documentation, and promoting holistic development.

The ideal candidate holds a Nova Scotia ECE license and relevant certifications, with a commitment to safety and continuous professional growth within a supportive, inclusive workplace.

Qualifications

• Nova Scotia ECE license required.
• Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Abuse Registry Check required.
• First Aid and CPR Level B or C required.
• Ability to safely push, pull, or lift up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver an Emergent Curriculum that supports each child’s development.
• Maintain accurate daily documentation, progress reports, and attendance.
• Support emotional, cognitive, physical, and behavioural development in a nurturing environment.
• Collaborate with external professionals when required.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations, including classroom ratios.
• Participate in team meetings and professional development.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver an Emergent Curriculum that supports each child’s unique development and learning journey
• Maintain accurate daily documentation, progress reports, and attendance records
• Support children’s emotional, cognitive, physical, and behavioural development in a nurturing environment
• Collaborate with external professionals such as Speech-Language Pathologists or Occupational Therapists when required
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations, including classroom ratios
• Actively participate in team meetings, professional development workshops, and classroom transitions

Qualifications

• Valid Nova Scotia ECE License
• Clear Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Abuse Registry Check
• Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Certification (Level B or C)
• Ability to safely push, pull, or lift up to 45 lbs
