Key responsibilities
  1. Monitor the daily level of service of the account and how administration is meeting the specified requirements. This includes main liaison with operations to understand and assist in meeting the needs of the customer, including inventory issues.
  2. Monitor billing, ensure accurate and timely delivery, in compliance with vendor guidelines.
  3. Monitor overages and shortages as relates to the customer.
  4. Monitor damages and procedure compliance as relates to the customer.
  5. Maintain and monitor relationship with customs procedures including freight clearance, documentation, and customer compliance. Liaison with other Damco entities, as needed.
  6. Schedule and reconcile all cycle counts in accordance with each account’s specifications.
  7. Maintain inventory integrity and perform all necessary inventory adjustments & corrections.
  8. Maintain inventory reports and logs as needed.
  9. Oversee warehouse audits to identify process issues that affect inventory accuracy.
  10. Interact with customer accounts to proactively determine areas of needed improvement or change.
  11. Monitor processes to reduce errors and focus on root causes of perpetual inventory inaccuracies.
  12. Develop and layout operational / inventory areas for any and all new accounts.
  13. Ensure that there is a high level of professionalism and productivity within the team.
  14. Participate in all planning meetings and travel that relate to the customer account.
  15. Be available to interact with guests from customer and participate along with other management personnel in presentations and entertaining of guests.
  16. Travel to customer headquarters for regular visits.
  17. Travel to potential customer start-up operations.
  18. Hire, counsel, and review employees on a regular basis. Offer Action Plan in which to improve or add-to the current tasks assigned.
  19. Ensure that employees are receiving proper training and support. This may include a detailed recommendation with timelines and improvement plans.
  20. Be responsive to budgetary guidelines in monitoring all expenditures and costs as it pertains to customer and/or administration at the site location. Be prepared to enforce with all colleagues and/or direct reports.
  21. Customer claim processing, reporting, and procedure compliance facilitation. Partner with Facility Manager to determine best process for resolving claims.
  22. This may include implementing new procedures that will serve as “check and balance” to eliminate further claims.
  23. Support Damco Distribution's commitment to quality, including customer-specific Quality programs, training requirements, and work instructions.
  24. Support to Facility Manager and Operations Manager.
  25. Handle special projects as assigned.
  26. Perform job-related duties as specified by management.
We are looking for
  1. Progressive supervisory experience showing an increase in responsibilities over a three-year period in the transportation industry or three years supervisory experience and two years management experience in the transportation industry.
  2. Education to include a bachelor’s degree in business or other related subject. Must be able to communicate on a high level with upper management and customers.
  3. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access).
  4. Ability to be a problem solver and a self-sustaining facilitator to resolve issues related to customer compliance.
  5. Skills in planning, written procedures, auditing, staffing, organizing, and communicating.
  6. Excellent time management skills to manage high volume in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Ability to develop effective relationships, provide leadership, and integrate diverse activities and individuals toward achieving quality objectives and standards.
  8. Working knowledge of WMOS systems, Manhattan, or other warehouse management systems may be required.
  9. Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  10. Demonstrate adaptability and solution engineering for market fluctuations and supply chain disruptions.
  11. Represent the account(s) during business implementation and execution, including onboarding of new Maersk product portfolio; collaborating with internal project owners.
  12. Basic understanding of all warehouse management systems in use.
  13. Accountability for ordering infrastructure/IT related items.
  14. Ability to waive orders where necessary.
  15. Establish and foster data-driven relationships with clients, focusing on joint strategic initiatives, ensuring leadership engagement and support, and proper escalation matrices.
  16. Monitor Product & Profitability.
  17. Seek to improve and optimize automation initiatives, including EDI customer exchange and AI capabilities.
  18. Identify and reduce warehouse operating costs.
  19. Facilitate regular business reviews with senior client teams.

Pay Range : 90,000-$100,000

  • The anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range based on market conditions and other factors such as location. The final salary will be discussed with the successful candidate(s) in accordance with applicable laws.
