Qualifications

  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform extended patrols.

Responsibilities

  • Patrol the casino property and maintain visibility in and around the casino.
  • Promote positive, discreet, and professional customer service for all guests and staff.
  • Respond to security incidents, medical emergencies, or behavioral incidents promptly and professionally.
  • Complete detailed written reports, incident reports, logs, and documentation accurately.
  • Ensure money, chips, and assets are kept safe and secure.

Job Overview

This is a great opportunity to join ACE Casinos as a Dual-Rate SecurityGuard/Supervisor based in Calgary. We are looking for a dependable, calm, and team-oriented individual who can perform frontline security guard duties while also stepping into occasional supervisory responsibilities as operational needs require. In this transitional role, the successful candidate will continue working alongside peers while gaining leadership experience through acting supervisor shifts, supporting a safe, secure, and service-focused casino environment.

Scheduling is based on operational requirements and requires availability for days, nights, weekdays, weekends, and holidays. When acting as Supervisor, shifts may follow a rotational pattern designed to provide experience across day, night, and weekend operations.

Example rotational schedule

Day 1–2: Day shifts,6:00 AM – 6:00 PM; Day 3–4: Night shifts, 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM; Day 5–8: Days off.This 8-day cycle then repeats.

Responsibilities and Duties
On Regular Shifts — Guard Duties
  • Patrol the casino property and maintainconsistent visibility in and around the casino.
  • Promote positive, friendly, discreet, andprofessional customer service for all guests and staff.
  • Answer inquiries and assist patrons when andwhere possible.
  • Maintain constant vigilance to help ensure thesafety of patrons, staff, company property, and assets.
  • Communicate clearly with team members andon-shift supervisors to identify and report suspicious activities, individuals,misconduct, or safety concerns.
  • Respond to security incidents, medicalemergencies, or behavioral incidents in a timely and professional manner.
  • Actively participate in the removal ofindividuals deemed undesirable, disruptive, or under the influence.
  • Provide escorts for patrons and staff to andfrom the casino upon request.
  • Implement fire alarm, bomb threat, robbery, andevacuation protocols when required.
  • Complete detailed written reports, incidentreports, logs, and occurrence documentation accurately and neatly.
  • Ensure irregular, unusual, suspicious, orillegal activities are controlled and reported.
  • Safeguard confidential information and exercisedue care to prevent improper disclosure or use.
  • Maintain and promote good public relations andcommunication with casino patrons and staff.
  • Complete Pit Checks to ensure table boxes aredistributed to appropriate tables and properly reset and locked by count roomstaff.
  • Follow good OH&S practices and comply withall company rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure money, chips, company property, andassets are kept safe and secure.
  • Execute all duties in a positive andprofessional manner.
When Acting as Supervisor — As Needed
  • Coordinate the security response during medical,behavioral, safety, or operational incidents.
  • Support, coach, and give clear direction orfeedback to guards on shift when needed.
  • Liaise with Surveillance, Operations, departmentmanagers, and other leadership partners.
  • Monitor shift coverage, radio discipline, teamaccountability, and general adherence to security standards.
  • Ensure safety, service, and professionalismexpectations are met throughout the shift.

Education, Experience, and Requirements
  • 1–3 years of prior security guard experience.
  • Excellent attendance and a consistent trackrecord of professionalism.
  • Comfortable stepping into a leadership role whenrequested.
  • Able to work a rotational schedule, includingdays, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs,completing extended patrols, and assisting with snow removal or other urgentphysical tasks.
