This role is responsible for shift leadership while maintaining accountability for the effective execution of core operational processes and the consistent application of professional, operational, and documentation standards across all shifts.

Working within a 24/7 casino environment, the Assistant Security Manager is expected to operate with a high degree of independence, take ownership of assigned responsibilities, and follow through to achieve results. While this position remains actively involved in day-to-day security operations, it also plays an important role in maintaining consistency, strengthening team performance, and identifying and addressing operational gaps.

  • Maintain a strong and visible presence throughout the casino to support situational awareness, reinforce staff performance, and ensure operational consistency.
  • Ensure incidents are managed in a manner that reflects departmental standards, regulatory requirements, and professional expectations.
Operational & Administrative Leadership
  • Take ownership of assigned operational and administrative functions within the security department, ensuring consistent execution and measurable outcomes.
  • Lead or contribute to core functions such as scheduling, training coordination, performance standards, and compliance-related processes, with responsibilities evolving based on operational needs and individual strengths.
  • Ensure consistency in documentation, reporting, and procedural adherence across all shifts.
  • Identify operational gaps, inefficiencies, or inconsistencies and implement practical solutions.
  • Maintain organization and follow-through on administrative responsibilities, balancing these with ongoing operational duties.
  • Liaise effectively with Surveillance, internal departments, and external partners to support coordinated operations and incident management.
Education and Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a full-time security supervisor role with direct responsibility for staff oversight and shift operations.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., business, criminal justice, psychology, or sociology) is an asset.

  • Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution, de-escalation, and incident management.
  • Experience supporting or leading operational functions such as scheduling, training, or team coordination is an asset.
