Great Canadian Entertainment is seeking a Security Officer to protect assets and provide a welcoming experience in our casino. The role includes access control, escorting visitors,Lost & Found duties, and maintaining daily logs.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 2+ years in customer service, First Aid/CPR, a valid driver's license, and the ability to obtain a Gaming License. Strong problem solving and the ability to work independently are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education an asset.
• Two (2) years of experience working with the public in a service role or in the service industry.
• Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution capabilities.
• Previous security experience or training is an asset.
• Must have a valid class driver's license.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification.
• Ability to obtain a Gaming License.
• Keen sense of observation and judgement under pressure.
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and data organization.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, document and report violations, unsafe conditions, hazards, and suspicious activities; prepare statements.
• Enforce restricted access by unauthorized persons.
• Observe transactions, slot drops, chip fills, and Lost & Found transfers.
• Perform ID checks on guests under 30.
• Refer disputes to Supervisor, Security.
• Conduct regular interior/exterior patrols.
• Escort guests and team members; manage crowd control.
• Attend to first aid incidents.
• Assist with Self-Exclusion program enrollment.
• Ensure compliance with licensing, health & safety, and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Security Officers will protect all guests and team members against theft, fraud, vandalism and abuse while delivering the highest level of service and respect to patrons and colleagues. This position will perform several varying duties throughout their shift, including controlling access to the facility and sensitive areas, escorting visitors, assisting departments, lost and found, and monitoring and recording within a daily log and assigned notebook. They may also be required to provide first aid and medical attention. Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadians learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.

Key Accountabilities

• Monitoring, documenting and reporting internal and external violations, unsafe conditions, potential hazards, suspicious persons and activities; preparing written and electronic statements;
• Enforcing res tricted access by unauthorized persons;
• Observing transactions, slot drops, chip fills and transferring items to Lost & Found;
• Performing identification checks to any guest who appears under 30;
• Referring disputes to the Supe rvisor, Security;
• Conducting regular patrols of the interior and exterior of the property as assigned;
• Escorting guests and team members;
• Performing crowd control as directed;
• Attend to first aid incidents;
• Assisti ng Supervisor, Security with enrolling guests in the Self-Exclusion program;
• Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
• Performs other duties as assigned or directed

Education And Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required, post-secondary education an asset;
• Two (2) years of experience working with the public in a service role or in the service industry;
