Job summary

PB CONSTRUCTION in Surrey, BC, is hiring for a on-site drywall installer/finisher. This full-time role requires 1 year to <2 years of experience in commercial, industrial or residential settings, and English language proficiency. Work is performed on site at various locations with no remote option.

You will apply coats of joint compound, install gypsum board, cut and fit sheets, install ceilings, and prepare surfaces for finishing. Expect physically demanding work, bending, climbing, and handling heavy loads while contributing to quality workmanship and safety on all projects.

Qualifications

• 1 year to less than 2 years construction experience.
• No degree, certificate or diploma required.
• English language proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints.
• Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners.
• Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings.
• Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife.
• Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets.
• Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists.
• Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound.
