Job summary

CertaPro Painters is seeking a painter helper to prepare surfaces, apply finishes, and assist with decorative detailing as needed. The role includes reading blueprints, mixing compounds, and applying materials to various surfaces.

The candidate should be able to work at heights using scaffolding or swing stages and have reliable communication with clients and team members. Requirements include a secondary high school diploma and 1 year to less than 2 years of painting experience.

Qualifications

• Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements.
• Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in finish coat, if required.
• Fill joints and holes with joint compound using trowel.
• Work at heights on scaffolding or swing stages.

WORK SETTING

TASKS

• Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements
• Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints
• Clean and prepare surfaces
• Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
• Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife
• Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in finish coat, if required
• Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry
• Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound
• Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages
