Job Duties

• Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets on walls and ceilings.
• Position and secure drywall sheets to metal or wooden studs and joists using appropriate fasteners.
• Measure and mark cutting lines and make openings for electrical outlets, windows, doors, plumbing and other fixtures.
• Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners.
• Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using appropriate hand tools.
• Apply drywall tape over joints and embed the tape in joint compound.
• Apply additional coats of joint compound, smooth the surface and sand seams and joints to achieve a finished surface.
• Repair damaged drywall, ceilings and wall surfaces as required.
• Install suspended ceiling systems, including metal ceiling grids and panels, as required.
• Read and interpret drawings, specifications and work instructions to determine installation and finishing requirements.
• Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a safe and orderly condition.
• Follow workplace safety procedures, site requirements and company policies.
