Job summary

McDougall Energy in Goderich, Ontario is seeking a Dispatcher to join our team. The role reports to the Operations Manager and focuses on planning, organizing and dispatching deliveries to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Ideal candidates will have dispatch and logistics experience in Southwestern Ontario, strong communication and computer skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of TDG, WHMIS and related regulations is an asset.

Qualifications

• Dispatch and logistics experience, with knowledge of Southwestern Ontario.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and dispatch deliveries to maximize efficiencies and optimize equipment utilization.
• Provide directions to drivers regarding routes and customer requirements.
• Troubleshoot repairs and truck maintenance with Operations Manager or Lead Hands.
• Generate daily, weekly and monthly reporting as required.
• Communicate with customers about delivery requirements and schedule changes.
• Adhere to health and safety policies and SOPs.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

McDougall Energy is looking for a Dispatcher to join our Goderich team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position is responsible for:

• Planning, organizing and dispatching all deliveries to maximize efficiencies and optimize equipment utilization
• Providing directions to drivers regarding routes and customer requirements
• Working with the Operations Manager and / or Lead Hands to troubleshoot repairs and truck maintenance
• Generating daily, weekly and monthly reporting as required
• Communicating and interfacing with customers regarding delivery requirements, changes to schedules and any other issues regarding their delivery
• Adhering to all company health and safety policies, standard operating procedures and established industry regulations
• Performing other office administration duties as required

ABOUT YOU:

The ideal candidate will have:

• Dispatch and logistics experience along with geographical knowledge of Southwestern Ontario
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Proficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong organization, time management and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Knowledge of TSSA, WHMIS & TDG requirements is considered an asset
• Working knowledge of the fuel and propane delivery industries’ practices and processes considered an asset
• DZ license considered an asset
