Job summary

Trimac Transportation in Canada is seeking a Dispatcher to communicate the load plan to drivers and customers, ensuring instructions are clear and customer requirements are met. An eye for detail will help maintain smooth operations and safety in daily dispatch.

The role reports to the Dispatch Manager, with a 4-on, 4-off shift rotation, and a base salary range of $65,000 to $85,000 CAD annually. A comprehensive benefits package supports employee wellbeing and growth.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.
  • 2-3 years of related experience and/or training.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience using a variety of systems.
  • Experience in the transportation industry.
  • Post-secondary education is considered an asset.
  • Experience in bulk and/or hazardous commodities an asset.
  • Experience with TMW is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate the load plan to drivers and customers.
  • Ensure drivers have proper instructions to perform duties safely.
  • Listen to driver concerns and act on them appropriately.
  • Ensure the company meets all customer requirements and changes are communicated.
  • Keep the dispatch system up to date.
  • Identify opportunities to increase efficiency for company and customer.
  • Ensure trailer interior washes are completed where required.
  • Record orders and trip events in the TMW promptly and accurately.
  • Audit TMW reports for compliance where applicable.
  • Record service failure reports and notify the Branch Manager.
  • Ensure drivers have adequate time to work safely within Hours of Work.
  • Ensure drivers and equipment meet regulatory and corporate compliance.
  • Assign proper equipment for jurisdiction and job requirements.

Schedule

The schedule for this position is a 4-on, 4-off shift rotation.

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for:

  • Responsible for communicating the load plan to drivers and customers.
  • Ensure the drivers have the proper instructions to perform their duties safely.
  • Listen to all driver concerns and act on them appropriately.
  • Ensure the Company meets all customer requirements, and any changes are communicated immediately.
  • Ensure the dispatch system is up to date.
  • Identify opportunities to increase efficiency for both the Company and the customer.
  • Ensure trailer interior washes are completed where required.
  • Ensure all orders and trip events are recorded in the TMW in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Where applicable audit TMW reports for compliance requirements.
  • Service failure reports are recorded in TMW and brought to the attention of the Branch Manager or designate.
  • Ensure that the driver has adequate time to perform his duties safely and within the Hours of Work regulations.
  • Ensure all drivers and equipment meet regulatory and corporate compliance.
  • Assign the proper equipment for the jurisdiction and the job requirements.
