Job summary

Carmens Group in Hamilton is seeking a part-time, permanent Kitchen Porter to support our Lakeview waterfront venue. You’ll wash and sanitize dishes, keep the kitchen tidy, and collaborate with the Executive Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth, safe operations.

Qualifications

• Previous dishwashing or kitchen cleaning experience is preferred.
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Reliable transportation required.
• Flexibility to work weekends and closing shifts.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, kitchen tools, and food preparation equipment.
• Dry and return cleaned items to their designated storage areas.
• Maintain clean dish stations, kitchen floors, storage areas, surfaces, walls, and equipment.
• Sweep, mop, and assist with garbage and recycling removal.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, chemical handling, and cleanliness procedures.
• Report low supplies, damaged items, or equipment concerns to the Executive Chef.
• Communicate with the kitchen team to support smooth and safe operations.
• Take direction from the Executive Chef and assist with other kitchen duties as assigned.
