Job summary

Carmens Group, Hamilton-born hospitality leader, is seeking a part-time Banquet Server to deliver exceptional guest experiences at its premier venues. You’ll help run weddings, corporate events, and celebrations with a dedicated team, ensuring high standards of hospitality and service from setup to tidying after service.

The role requires Smart Serve certification and a valid driver’s license; ability to work evenings and weekends is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in banquet service, catering, or high-volume service environments is preferred.
• Must have Smart Serve Certification.
• Must hold a valid Driver's License.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and event-driven schedules.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; guest-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests with warmth and professionalism; ensure attentive experience from arrival to seating.
• Serve food and beverages with high presentation and service standards.
• Coordinate with kitchen for dietary restrictions and special requests.
• Stay organized and support flawless event execution with the team.
• Maintain clean service areas and assist with setup and restocking as needed.
• Follow guidance of Banquet Captain or Supervisor for timely service.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture and guest satisfaction.

What you will be doing:

As a Banquet Server, you’ll play an important role in delivering exceptional event experiences, helping bring everything from elegant weddings to corporate functions to life. Working alongside a dedicated team, you’ll provide outstanding service and hospitality while ensuring every guest enjoys a memorable experience.

• Welcome guests with warmth and professionalism, creating a positive and attentive experience from the moment they arrive.
• Serve food and beverages efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and service.
• Communicate effectively with the kitchen team to ensure dietary restrictions and special requests are accommodated.
• Familiarize yourself with event menus, timelines, and service expectations to support flawless execution.
• Monitor guest satisfaction throughout the event, responding promptly and proactively to requests and concerns.
• Clear, reset, and maintain tables while ensuring service areas remain clean, organized, and event-ready.
• Assist with side duties, including setting up service stations, restocking supplies, and preparing for service.
• Follow the direction of the Banquet Captain or Supervisor to ensure smooth, coordinated, and timely event service.
• Demonstrate professionalism, sound judgment, and a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
• Contribute to a supportive team culture focused on collaboration, hospitality, and excellence.
• Play a role in creating memorable experiences for guests celebrating life’s most meaningful occasions.
• Perform other duties as required to support successful banquet and event operations.

• Previous experience in banquet service, catering, restaurants, hospitality, or other high-volume service environments

• The ability to remain calm, organized, and professional in fast-paced and high-pressure settings
• A guest-focused approach and commitment to delivering outstanding service

• A polished and professional presence suited to upscale events and special occasions
• Valid Smart Serve Certification (required)
• Valid Driver’s License (required)
