Carmen's Group is seeking a part-time Event Setup Associate to join our team at Carmen's Event Centre in Hamilton. As part of a renowned hospitality company, you will help transform event spaces, ensuring they are organized and ready for various celebrations.

Your responsibilities include arranging furniture and supporting the event team with equipment setup. Ideal candidates have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in event operations or a hospitality setting is an asset.
• A strong work ethic and pride in keeping spaces clean and organized.
• Ability to safely lift, carry, and move heavy furniture and equipment.

Position Details:

Job Type: part-time, permanent
Vacancy: This posting is for an existing vacancy (replacement for a currently unfilled position)
Compensation: $18.00 per hour + gratuities

What You Will Be Doing:

• Transform event spaces by arranging furniture and room layouts to match event plans, specifications, and client expectations.
• Move décor, furniture, supplies, and other event materials safely throughout the venue using carts, dollies, and related equipment.
• Arrange tables, chairs, staging, dance floors, and event equipment according to guest numbers and designated floor plans.
• Support the event team with audiovisual equipment, extension cords, and basic lighting components as required.
• Ensure event spaces and back-of-house areas remain clean, organized, and ready before, during, and after each event.
• Break down event spaces efficiently after functions by removing décor, furniture, staging, and equipment and resetting the venue for what comes next.
