Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Director of Engineering, Platform/Services for a remote leadership role based in Canada. You will lead teams responsible for core platform services, cloud infrastructure, identity systems, and partner integrations, driving reliability, security, and scalable architecture for a global user base.

The role requires guiding technical strategy, coaching engineering managers, and delivering measurable business outcomes while maintaining high engineering standards and cost

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years in leadership roles.
• Proven track record leading backend/platform engineering for large-scale systems.
• Experience translating strategy into technical roadmaps and communicating with executives.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams building and operating platform services to support hundreds of millions of users.
• Define long‑term platform strategy and balance reliability, performance, and cost.
• Modernize legacy systems while addressing current operational needs.
• Develop engineers and managers, instilling ownership and accountability.
• Collaborate with Product, Security, Data, and other leaders to plan roadmaps.
