Overview

An established full-service hotel in the northern part of the Greater Toronto Area is seeking a Director of Sales to lead revenue growth across multiple guest segments in a dynamic and evolving market. With 100+ guest rooms and 15,000 sq. ft. of leased retail / commercial space, this independently owned property has been a trusted part of the community for decades. Known for its strong direct business, high quality and guest satisfaction scores, and a unique offering as the only hotel in its competitive set with a full-service restaurant, it provides an exceptional platform for a strategic, hands-on sales leader to thrive. This role is ideal for a driven and entrepreneurial hotel sales professional who understands the nuances of secondary or suburban markets, values autonomy, and can confidently bring forward ideas, execute proactively, and build lasting client relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to drive revenue across corporate, construction, healthcare, legal, long-stay, and other key markets
  • Rebuild and expand relationships with legacy accounts while identifying and securing new business opportunities
  • Represent the hotel within the local and regional business community, acting as the property's lead relationship builder
  • Maintain a consistent on-property presence to stay close to operations and the guest experience
  • Utilize PMS and CRM tools (Visual Matrix experience preferred) along with STR data to analyze performance and guide sales efforts
  • Collaborate with front desk and operations teams to align service delivery with sales goals
  • Provide informal coaching and direction to existing sales support or front desk staff involved in reservations or guest communication
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in hotel sales with a proven record of revenue growth and account management
  • Experience in independent, branded, or soft-branded properties
  • in suburban or tertiary markets preferred
  • Strong understanding of hospitality sales fundamentals including rate strategies, market segmentation, and distribution channels
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated success building and maintaining long-term client relationships
  • Proficiency in reading and analyzing PMS reports, STR data, and sales performance metrics
  • Highly organized with strong time management and follow-through skills
  • Comfortable working independently and reporting directly to ownership
  • A collaborative, adaptable mindset with the confidence to bring new ideas to the table
  • Post-secondary education in Hospitality, Business, or a related field is an asset but not required
