The Role:

We are looking for a strategic and creative Director, Marketing D2C eCommerce for our Consumer Technology markets. You will produce campaigns for consumers and lead the marketing efforts to drive awareness of our world famous YubiKeys and increase revenue for Yubico’s D2C e-commerce platforms. To ensure successful strategy building and execution of all campaigns you will work closely with cross-functional team members.

Key traits for this role include an entrepreneurial mindset, a data-driven approach, and strong leadership and communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marketing and consumer technology (cybersecurity experience is a plus) with a proven track record of managing successful e-commerce campaigns for small businesses and consumers across D2C, partner and affiliate platforms, and marketplaces.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Develop e-commerce and digital marketing strategies, plans and programs to drive business growth objectives, help develop merchandising, marketing & creative strategies to grow revenue & profitability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product marketing, digital marketing, content, and sales to create compelling campaigns that engage, educate and convert consumers.
  • Manage marketing budget, allocate resources effectively, and measure the ROI of marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with product development teams to create compelling value propositions and go-to-market strategies.
  • Align marketing efforts with overall business objectives, defining, tracking and optimizing against marketing KPIs consistent with our financial targets.
  • Develop product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market plans to ensure successful product launches and adoption. Ensure consistent messaging across all marketing channels and materials.
  • Collaborate with the broader e-commerce team to understand sales trends, product performance, and upcoming campaigns to inform upcoming e-commerce product assortments.
  • Gather insights on top-performing products, customer feedback, and areas of opportunity for growth.
  • Lead strategic planning sessions with global, internal, and external stakeholders.
  • Manage campaign optimization for site traffic and conversion to sales.
  • Identify new opportunities and lead initiatives to enhance customer engagement and acquisition.
  • Lead the execution of marketing campaigns from concept to launch.
  • Analyze data and trends to continuously improve marketing effectiveness and ROI.
  • Work with the Global Communications team to analyze and optimize across organic search and social, video and community channels to raise awareness and increase brand awareness.
  • Prepare and present reports to cross-functional teams and leadership on key metrics and insights.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years' experience in e-commerce growth, digital marketing, or marketplace optimization (e.g., Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, owned channel, etc.).
  • Successful track record in a senior marketing D2C e-commerce role.
  • Experience working collaboratively within the ecommerce business as well as cross department, cross channel, cross company and externally to educate, influence and successfully launch digital and omni-channel programs.
  • Demonstrated ability for developing multi-year and annual strategic plans that include assumptions and forecasts.
  • Strong understanding of e-commerce trends, analytics, and customer preferences.
  • Demonstrable experience with and understanding of SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and/or digital advertising campaigns.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills at the strategic and tactical levels.
  • Utilizes data to make decisions. Strong data acumen. Hands-on experience gathering data and insights through various analytics tools including Google Analytics.
  • Experience managing large budgets ($2 million+ annual) across multiple channels in multiple geographic regions.
  • Mastery of project management, including the ability to prioritize work, delegate workload and manage the demands of a fast-paced environment and tight deadlines.
  • A deep understanding of performance marketing across various channels, including Google Ads, Facebook Ads, and Amazon Ads, is essential.
  • Deep understanding of and experience with leading e-commerce platforms and tools (e.g., Shopify, Klaviyo, Meta Commerce, Google for Business, etc.).
