Salary range for the position is $116,591 to $167,600. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.

How will you create an impact

The Director, Business Operations is accountable for the strategic direction of financial planning and decision support for assigned healthcare portfolios. As a member of the Business Operations Leadership team and the VP Leadership Team, the Director provides leadership within and around financial planning in order to facilitate the achievement of the mission, goals, and objectives of Interior Health (IH) in accordance with the organization’s values. The Director provides input and makes recommendations to the CFO, Vice President and senior executives, Executive Director Finance, Corporate Director Business Operations; and senior leadership on financial issues as they relate to both the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of their assigned portfolios.

What will you work on
  • Participates in strategic planning processes and projects that have IH-wide impact and require consultation with other jurisdictions and senior executive.
  • Is accountable for processes that set organizational priorities and allocate resources toward the delivery of those priorities (for both operating and capital revenues/expenditures).
  • Is accountable for allocating resources and approving budget recommendations and remedial strategies prepared by others.
  • Develops and maintains policies, principles, and processes to assist in the management of resource allocation, service provider contracts, and decision support.
  • Is accountable for ensuring strong integration of information and issue management between both the planning aspects of financial services and reporting. This includes accountability for managing an effective forecasting mechanism to assist senior executives’ ability to adjust resources and commit resources toward organizational priorities.
  • Develops strong liaisons with other Directors Business Operations and Executive/Corporate Directors across the organization.
  • Develops strong liaison with the Regional Hospital Districts and Foundations to secure funding for prioritized expenditures (mainly capital).
  • Provides direction and leadership to Business Operations and broader Financial Services team.
  • In alignment with IH’s Occupational Health & Safety Program, maintain a healthy and safe work environment through complying with and implementing applicable Occupational Health and Safety Regulation, responding to requests from WSBC, identifying hazards and communicating risks, ensuring compliance with employee training, conducting effective incident investigations and implementing required corrective actions.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualfications
Education, Training, and Experience
  • A CPA or a Master’s degree in relevant discipline (e.g. MBA, MHA).
  • Seven to ten years of recent, relevant experience.
