Job summary

Simon Fraser University's Beedie School of Business seeks a Manager, Digital Strategy to lead a digital team and oversee strategic marketing initiatives. You will develop data-driven organic social media and paid campaigns across key channels, partnering with stakeholders to set goals and track performance.

You will guide content creation, optimize campaigns, manage budgets and vendor relations, and foster engagement across branded platforms.

The Marketing & Communications team is responsible for all external communications, marketing, promotions, and public relations initiatives for SFU's Beedie School of Business. The Marketing & Communications team support various stakeholders, including graduate and undergraduate recruitment, alumni, career management centre, the dean's office, student engagement, and more. The Marketing & Communications team is responsible for all paid, earned, and owned content creation and oversight, and for ensuring the integrity of the SFU Beedie brand across all communication channels and assets, including the business school's website and social media accounts. The Marketing & Communications team manages relationships with a media agency, an advertising agency, and a variety of contract vendors (including photographers, copywriters, digital marketing specialists, web developers, and more).

About The Role

The Manager, Digital Strategy manages a digital team that provides strategic leadership, planning, and execution for all digital marketing initiatives, content, and channels in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Develops and implements data-driven organic social media and paid advertising campaigns (domestic and international) and monitors, analyzes, and reports on results. Fosters community on branded social channels through the creation and curation of targeted, educational, and engaging content. Engages with students, faculty, and internal departments to provide support and guidance, and gathers insights and feedback to drive strategy.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a relevant discipline, with four years of related experience in digital marketing, advertising, communications and web design, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience in marketing, communications and/or graphics.

  • Excellent knowledge and ability to create, lead and implement strategic digital marketing and communications plans and initiatives.
  • Excellent knowledge of current online marketing concepts, promotional strategies and best practice.
  • Excellent knowledge of planning, launching and optimizing paid digital campaigns across multiple platforms.
  • Excellent knowledge of web metrics and digital analytics.
  • Excellent project coordination and financial management skills, including managing a significant media budget.
  • Excellent organizational, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication (both oral and written) skills.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and manage effective and innovative digital/social media campaigns.
  • Proficiency in graphics, web advertising, social media and web development.
  • Proficient in the use of content management, information management, and learning management systems.
