Job summary

Southbridge Care Homes is seeking a part-time Dietary Aide for Hallowell House in Picton, ON. The day shift runs 11am–7pm, with duties including assisting cooks, serving meals, and ensuring safe food handling.

Requirements include enrollment or completion of a College Level Food Service Worker Program, Safe Food Handling Certificate, VSC check, TB test, and strong communication. Candidates who are team players and compassionate about resident care are encouraged to apply.

Food Service Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Ensuring food is handled in a safe manner, including proper storage and labeling
• Assisting cooks in basic food preparation
• Executing proper food service in relation to internal and external guidelines and protocols
• Serving meals according to Resident diet orders
• Washing, cleaning and maintaining the kitchen and dining room

Knowledge And Skills Required

• Mandatory enrollment or completion of a College Level Food Service Worker Program, meeting the requirements of the Ontario Long-Term Care Homes Act
• Possess a current Safe Food Handling Certificate
• Have a caring heart with a passion for serving others
• Passion for providing quality care to residents in a long-term care setting
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Demonstrated ability to be a team player

Additional Requirements Include

• A negative vulnerable sector check completed within 6 months of start date.
• Completion of a 2 Step TB Skin test within the last 12 months of start date.
