Job summary

Save-On-Foods is hiring a Department Manager, Meat for our Powell River, BC location. The role leads the department, coaches staff, and ensures a customer-first experience while maintaining health and safety and merchandising standards.

You will analyze KPIs, manage inventory, and support sales growth and customer loyalty through effective training and scheduling in a dynamic retail environment.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of retail experience.
• Food Safe Certification.
• A post-secondary education in a business related field is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead the department, acting as coach and mentor to foster a positive team environment focused on Always Customer First service.
• Deliver operational excellence through customer experience, health and safety, food safety, and merchandising.
• Train and develop team members, manage performance, and plan succession.
• Communicate key messages and business objectives to department staff and align with company goals.
• Review financial reports, identify opportunities to improve performance, and present KPIs to management.
• Analyze department HR and business metrics and support strategies to grow sales and loyalty.
• Oversee inventory counts and end-of-period processes; manage issues as needed.
