Save-On-Foods is hiring a Department Manager, Restaurant in Prince Rupert, BC. This full-time role oversees operations, staff development, and in-store customer experience.

You will lead the team, manage merchandising and safety practices, and drive sales while maintaining high service standards in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of retail experience.
• Leadership experience is an asset.
• Food Safe Certification.
• Post-secondary education in a business field is an asset.
• Experience with achieving sales targets, merchandising, HR, scheduling, and safety policies.
• Proficiency with computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead the department as coach and mentor, fostering a Customer First culture.
• Drive operational excellence in customer experience, health and safety, and merchandising.
• Train, develop, and recognize team members; manage performance and succession.
• Communicate goals and KPIs to the department and align with company objectives.
• Review financials, identify opportunities, and present KPIs to management.
• Monitor HR metrics and dashboards for department insights.
• Grow sales and customer loyalty through strategy execution.
• Lead inventory counts and end-of-period processes; resolve issues.
• Perform duties including lifting up to 50 lbs and working in variable environments.

We are hiring a Department Manager, Restaurant at our Save-On-Foods location in Prince Rupert, BC.

This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, and the successful applicant must have open availability.

You will be responsible for:

• Leading the department, acting as a coach, mentor, and resource while fostering a positive team environment focused on Always Customer First service.
• Delivering operational excellence through customer experience, health and safety, food safety, and merchandising.
• Engaging and retaining team members through training, performance management, rewards/recognition, and succession planning.
• Communicating key messages and business objectives to team members in the department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Reviewing and analyzing financial reports, identifying opportunities to improve performance, and presenting KPIs to the management team.
• Analyzing business/HR metrics and dashboards of the department.
• Supporting with implementing strategies to grow sales and customer loyalty.
• Leading inventory counts/period end of the department and resolving issues as required.
• Performing all job duties throughout the department as needed, including lifting weight (up to 50 lbs), standing for long periods of time, and working in hot/cold environments.

You have:

• 1-3 years of retail experience.
• Leadership experience is an asset.
• Food Safe Certification.
• A post-secondary education in a business related field is an asset.
• Experience and/or knowledge with:
• Achieving sales targets and profitability.
• Executing merchandising plans and creating in-store displays to drive sales.
• Human Resources (e.g. training, development, coaching and mentoring).
• Workforce planning and scheduling considerations.
• Health and safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
• Proficiency with computer applications.
