About The Department

The Global Transport and Customs & Trade Compliance Organization (GTC) is the center of expertise for the global transport and customs network. It sets the strategy, frameworks, guidelines, and provides functional expertise in network design across the global supply community and with the logistics community in the regions. It manages projects that deliver value in terms of Cost, Performance, Quality, Service, Compliance, and Sustainability related to Transportation and Customs & Trade Compliance.

The Role

Coty seeks an individual to join the Global Customs and Trade Compliance team as Senior Customs Compliance Specialist. You will support daily customs operations in the Americas, especially Canada and US, ensuring operational continuity and regulatory compliance. The role involves classification, free trade agreement qualification, managing relationships with brokers, monitoring KPIs, and reporting to leadership. You will interact with various stakeholders including customs authorities and work closely with the global trade compliance community.

Responsibilities
  • Manage daily customs processes proactively
  • Coordinate with business stakeholders on initiatives
  • Support customs escalations and shipment coordination
  • Identify and report incidents, implement corrective controls
  • Assist with product classification and origin determination for FTAs
  • Process customs payments
  • Collect and analyze customs data
  • Procure certificates of origin
  • Support return shipments from Canada to US
  • Manage relationships with customs authorities
  • Own customs & trade compliance frameworks and SOPs
Qualifications

Essential:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, or related field
  • Experience with customs processes in Canada and US, especially in manufacturing/distribution
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Understanding of customs classification and origin determination
  • Structured, reliable, autonomous work style
  • Strong analytical skills and Excel knowledge
  • Solution-oriented, team player, good networker
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of MIC modules (CUST, OCS, Classification) or other GTM software
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
