Job summary

NAIT is seeking a part-time Customer Service Representative I to join our on-campus bookstore warehouse, web department and sales floor at the Main Campus. You will engage customers, process orders, manage inventory, support digital course material, and assist in sales floor service with a friendly, professional approach.

The role requires 12th grade education, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and flexibility for varied shifts including evenings/weekends; a pallet jack and Microsoft Office

Qualifications

• Completion of grade 12 or equivalent
• Experience in a retail back of house or warehouse environment is preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required and daily tasks involve inventory tools

Responsibilities

• Actively assist customers with inquiries and purchases in a friendly, professional manner
• Receive, count, tag, and organize inventory including overstock and customer orders
• Prepare documentation for processing to Finance and ensure timely processing of returns and disposals
• Replenish floor stock and coordinate with team leads to maintain product flow
• Assist with digital course material support and on-site sales floor service

We are more than just a bookstore, and not only will you verify and process products coming through our warehouse and fulfil web orders, but you will also provide digital course material support and assist in sales floor service.This position includes a variety of shifts flexing between the hours of 8am and 5:15pm, this may also include some evenings or Saturdays. If you have a passion to offer exemplary service, love interacting with people, value teamwork, and appreciate a job well done, then we welcome your application!**Key Responsibilities*** Actively engage customers by offering support, suggesting items for purchase, answering questions, and resolving concerns in a friendly manner* Receiving, counting, tagging, and organizing inventory including overstock and customer orders, preparing appropriate documentation and merchandise for sale* Ensure paperwork for processing to Finance is timely and accurate* Replenish floor stock and work with Team Leads to ensure product continues to flow through the warehouse in a timely manner* Consistent updating of locations for all course materials* Process returns, disposals, and work with the Buying team on timely movement of product onto the salesfloor* Preparing product for shelving, shrink wrapping, creating shelf labels and ensuring accuracy in pricing* Enact loss-prevention strategies to support a secure shopping environment **Skills & Abilities*** Detail orientated and an agile learner with the ability to retain product knowledge and confidently assist couriers, staff, and customers* Show initiative, excellent skills in customer service, communication (including phone etiquette), teamwork and a creative open mind* Flexibility with scheduling, including the ability to work increased hours during peak periods and some evening and weekend shifts* A strong working knowledge of the Microsoft office suite and previous experience with a retail inventory management system* Must be able to lift to 50 lbs, this job requires standing, bending and moving product consistently* A driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle would be an asset**Qualifications*** Completion of grade 12 or have an equivalent combination of experience and education related to the role* The successful candidate should have experience in a retail back of house or retail warehouse environment, be detail oriented and organized* Experience with a pallet jack is an asset* Confidence in Microsoft office suite is a must as our staff use this on a daily basisApplicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services (WES), International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) or the Comparative Education Services (CES).**Classification – Customer Service Representative I***This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.***Remuneration**Refer to salary range noted on this posting, plus a comprehensive benefits package.Note: Remuneration for part-time positions will be pro-rated based on FTE (full-time equivalent).The compensation range for this job posting is : $33,648.27 - $45,216.16NAIT is committed to a transparent, fair, and human-centered hiring experience.
