Job summary

NAIT is seeking a casual Peace Officer I to patrol Main Campus and uphold public safety. You will deter crime, respond to security incidents, and enforce campus policies while delivering professional customer service to students, staff, and visitors.

The role requires a Grade 12, a relevant diploma, PPO I designation, and CPR/First Aid. Alberta Class 5 license and multiple years in customer service and law enforcement are expected.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 12.
• Completion of a recognized diploma in a relevant field of study.
• Possession of the Community Peace Officer I designation.
• Valid First Aid and Basic CPR certificates with AED qualification.
• Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license is a requirement.
• Minimum three years of strong customer service experience.
• Minimum one year of diverse, related law‐enforcement experience.
• Equivalencies may be considered.

Peace Officers serve as customer service representatives for NAIT while deterring criminal activity, responding to security emergencies, and promoting public safety on NAIT property. Employees investigate incidents both proactively and reactively, enforce applicable laws, seek legislative compliance, administer punitive measures, serve legal documents, and represent NAIT in court when required.
