Job summary

Fuze HR Solutions in Thunder Bay is seeking a customer-focused professional to join our local branch in a Full-Time, permanent role. You will process orders, coordinate shipments, provide counter sales, and support sales growth with accurate service.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in customer service or order management, plus experience in industrial or distribution environments, and strong communication skills. Post-secondary education is preferred; bilingual English/French is a plus.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in customer service, inside sales, order management, or a related role.
  • Experience in industrial, distribution, manufacturing, wholesale, or technical products environments is an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers by phone, email, and in person.
  • Process customer orders accurately, including order entry, freight arrangements, invoicing, and related documentation.
  • Prepare quotations, source products, follow up on outstanding quotes, and coordinate orders through to completion.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and resolve service issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Identify more complex issues and involve the appropriate internal team.
  • Coordinate with vendors, warehouse personnel, and transportation providers to meet customer requirements.
  • Track shipments, arrange pickups and deliveries, and investigate delays or discrepancies.
  • Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and replenishment needs.
  • Conduct outbound calls to existing customers to strengthen relationships and support sales growth.
  • Provide counter sales and in-person customer support at the branch.
  • Maintain accurate records, invoices, shipping documentation, and other required paperwork.
  • Provide occasional after-hours customer support when required.

About the Opportunity

Our client is an established industrial products and distribution organization serving customers across a range of commercial and operational environments. They are looking for a customer-focused professional to join their local branch and play a key role in supporting customers, processing orders, coordinating shipments, and contributing to sales growth.

This is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys building relationships, solving problems, and working in a fast-paced environment where customer service and operational accuracy are equally important.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers by phone, email, and in person.
  • Process customer orders accurately, including order entry, freight arrangements, invoicing, and related documentation.
  • Prepare quotations, source products, follow up on outstanding quotes, and coordinate orders through to completion.

  • Provide occasional after-hours customer support when required.
  • Develop knowledge of the company's products, customers, vendors, and industry to provide increasingly effective support.
  • Contribute to a collaborative branch environment and assist with other operational responsibilities as needed.
What We're Looking For
  • 3–5 years of experience in customer service, inside sales, order management, or a related role.
  • Experience within an industrial, distribution, manufacturing, wholesale, or technical products environment is an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship-building abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Comfortable working with numbers and processing orders accurately.
  • Basic computer proficiency and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional and confident communication style.
  • Post-secondary education is preferred.
  • Bilingual French/English skills would be considered an asset.
