Patene Building Supplies Ltd is seeking a motivated individual for the role of Customer Service & Branch Operations at our St. Catharines Branch.

The position supports both customer service and day-to-day branch operations, working closely with the Branch Manager and branch team to assist customers, process orders, quotations, and coordinate deliveries. The candidate will engage with customers, support shipping, receiving and yard activities, and contribute to a safe, efficient branch

Qualifications

• Completion of high school.
• 1–2 years in customer service, inside sales, shipping/receiving, or branch operations.
• Knowledge of building supplies; building materials industry experience is an asset.
• Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
• Excellent communication and computer skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

Salary Range: $40,000.00 To $55,000.00 Annually

Patene Building Supplies Limited is a distributor of drywall, steel framing components, insulation, acoustic ceilings, shingles and other building materials for the residential and commercial construction industries. We have thirteen (13) branch locations throughout Ontario & Manitoba to serve our customer base of contractors, builders and retail customers.

We are currently seeking a career-minded individual for the position of Customer Service & Branch Operations for our St. Catharines Branch.

This is a cross-functional position supporting both customer service and the day-to-day operations of the branch. Working closely with the Branch Manager and other members of the branch team, the successful candidate will assist customers, process orders and quotations, coordinate deliveries and support shipping, receiving and yard operations. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys variety, working with customers and being involved in multiple areas of the business.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and strong rapport with customers
• Receive and process customer orders and respond to order inquiries
• Prepare quotations, bids and estimates for customers
• Provide pricing, product availability and delivery schedule information
• Suggest alternate products to meet customer needs and create awareness of new products
• Work closely with the Branch Manager and outside sales team to support customer needs and branch objectives
• Coordinate with the yard and delivery team to ensure customer orders are completed accurately and on time

Branch Operations

• Work closely with the Branch Manager to coordinate daily deliveries, shipping and receiving activities
• Monitor completion of daily truck reports and required maintenance of forklifts and trucks
• Assist with ensuring the accuracy and securement of materials being loaded and unloaded
• Verify incoming and outgoing materials for accuracy and quality
• Problem solve missing documents, shipments and delivery issues
• Assist the Branch Manager with the coordination of drivers, forklift operators and yard personnel
• Help maintain a safe, clean and organized warehouse and yard for efficient movement of products
• Perform inventory counts as required
• Ensure required incident, accident and WSIB documentation is completed and forwarded to Health & Safety
• Participate in and assist with monthly safety meetings
• Adhere to company Health & Safety policies and government regulations and assist the Branch Manager in maintaining a safe work environment
• Maintain professional and courteous interactions with employees, customers and suppliers

Qualifications

• Completion of high school
• 1–2 years of experience in customer service, inside sales, shipping and receiving, branch operations or a related role preferred
• General knowledge of building supplies and their application is considered an asset
• Experience in the building materials industry is considered an asset
• Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
• Excellent communication, customer service and computer skills
• Ability to balance customer service and operational priorities
• Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
