Job summary

Patene Building Supplies Ltd. in St. Catharines is seeking an energetic Delivery Helper to join our team. You will assist in loading and unloading deliveries from our Barrie branch - this is a physical role suited to early risers. Our Delivery Drivers and Helpers are a vital link in the distribution process and are often the Face of our Branch.

Must have a valid G license; offers competitive wages, health, dental, life insurance and an RRSP plan after waiting periods.

Qualifications

• Must be timely and dependable.
• Must work well within a team environment.
• Willing to learn and develop through in-house training.
• Ability to communicate with co-workers, vendors and customers (verbal and written).
• Willing to go the Extra-Mile.

Responsibilities

• Complete dedication to safety and a safe work environment is paramount
• Ensure required materials and equipment on trucks is checked and ready for delivery
• Participate in unloading materials (repetitive heavy lifting and working at heights will be required)
• Assist driver with verifying and strapping of loads; ensure safe and timely delivery and pick up of material to and from locations
• Assist driver on site and in yard as required (backing, set up) – ‘flagman responsibilities’
• Ability to work indoor, outdoor and at various heights (rooftop deliveries)
• Occasional delivery of materials on our own small flatbed truck ("G" license required)
• Adhere and follow company’s Health & Safety policies and regulations
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

We are a team of "Material Distribution Specialists" who provide shingles, drywall, insulation and many other high quality building materials to the residential and commercial construction market.

We have thirteen (13) branch locations throughout Ontario & Manitoba to serve our customer base.

Our St. Catharines location is currently looking for an energetic Delivery Helperto add to their team. You will assist in loading and unloading deliveries from our Barrie branch - this is a physical role suited to early risers. Our Delivery Drivers and Helpers are a vital link in the distribution process and are often the "Face of our Branch". Friendly and courteous interaction with our team and our customers is critical; you are often the first person our customers see each day.
