Patene Building Supplies Ltd. in Thunder Bay, Ontario, is seeking a Customer Service & Order Desk Representative to join our fast-paced team. This permanent, full-time role focuses on delivering outstanding service while supporting day-to-day branch operations.

You will handle orders by phone, email and in person, advise customers on product options, prepare quotations and coordinate with suppliers and warehousing to meet customer needs. Strong communication and accuracy are essential.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in customer service or order desk roles.
• General knowledge of building materials is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Detail-oriented with accuracy.
• Proficient computer skills and ability to learn new software.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
• Positive attitude and commitment to outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers by providing exceptional service.
• Receive and process customer orders by phone, email and in person.
• Respond promptly to customer inquiries regarding products, pricing, availability and delivery schedules.
• Prepare quotations and estimates for customers.
• Assist customers in selecting products that best meet their needs and recommend suitable alternatives when appropriate.
• Coordinate with suppliers, warehouse staff and the outside sales team to ensure customer requirements are met.
• Follow up on customer requests and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner.
• Maintain accurate customer and order information within the system.
• Contribute to a positive team environment while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
