Job summary

Patene Building Supplies Ltd. is seeking an Outside Sales Representative for our Winnipeg location to build relationships, identify new accounts, and provide expert product solutions for residential and commercial construction projects.

You will review drawings, prepare quotations, and work with the Branch Manager to meet sales targets while supporting customers with drywall, insulation, and related materials. This is a full-time on-site role offering a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• Prior outside sales experience in construction/building materials.
• Knowledge of drywall, insulation, roofing or related products.
• Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings.
• Experience performing material take-offs and estimates is desirable.
• Construction-related post-secondary education is a strong asset.
• Trade background valued.
• Strong communication and customer focus.
• Self-motivated and results-driven.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers to ensure ongoing business and customer satisfaction
• Identify, prospect, and develop new customer accounts within the assigned territory
• Provide professional, timely, and effective solutions to customer inquiries and project needs
• Prepare accurate quotations, proposals, and product recommendations
• Review construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications to identify project opportunities
• Complete material take-offs and assist customers with product selection and project planning
• Provide technical support, product knowledge, and relevant literature to customers
• Collaborate with the Branch Manager and internal teams to meet customer expectations and resolve issues promptly
• Contribute to branch sales objectives and be accountable for achieving individual sales targets

Salary Range: $50,000.00 To $70,000.00 Annually

We are currently seeking a motivated, results-oriented, and energetic individual for the position of Outside Sales Representative for our Winnipeg location.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Previous outside sales experience required, preferably within the construction or building materials industry
• Strong knowledge of building materials and their applications; experience with drywall, insulation, roofing, or related products is an asset
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications
• Experience performing material take-offs and preparing project estimates is highly desirable
• Post-secondary education in a construction-related field (e.g., Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology) is considered a strong asset
• Trade background or hands-on experience in the construction industry is highly valued
• Positive, outgoing, and professional attitude with a strong customer focus
• Self-motivated, energetic, and results-driven with a proven ability to meet or exceed targets
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
