University of Ottawa is seeking Teaching Assistants for CHM4354 Principles of Instrumental Analysis. Work is performed in person at the Main Campus, Labouratoire section, January to April 2027, supporting lab activities, grading, and exam proctoring. Ten positions offered for the Winter 2027 term.

Undergraduate and graduate students will be paid at different rates, with safety guidelines strictly enforced. Training requirements and accessibility accommodations are provided as per policy.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc. Chemistry degree required.
  • WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety workshops must be completed.
  • Non-chemistry graduates may be asked to take a qualifying test.

Responsibilities

  • Assist students in the laboratory and outside lab settings.
  • Grade and provide feedback on laboratory reports.
  • Proctor a final exam and monitor during assessments.

Minimum QualificationsCandidate must have the equivalent of a B.Sc. Chemistry degree. Successful completion of WHIMIS and Occupational Health and Safety workshops. All those who are not a Chemistry graduate student will be required to write a test to qualify (unless already previously done).
