Job summary

University of Ottawa seeks a Teaching Assistant/Demonstrator/Lab Monitor for CHM2354 Analytical Chemistry laboratory at the Main Campus. You will support students in lab, grade reports and exams, and ensure safety compliance.

The role is paid hourly with two rates (undergraduate lower, graduate higher) and is delivered in person during the Winter 2026 semester. Duties are negotiated with the supervising professor.

Qualifications

• Candidate must have one full year of general chemistry and one full year of organic chemistry.
• Successful completion of WHIMIS and Occupational Health and Safety workshops.

Minimum Qualifications

• Candidate must have 1 full year of general chemistry, 1 full year of organic chemistry and CHM 4354 or its equivalent. All those who are not a Chemistry graduate student will be required to write a test to qualify. (Unless already previously done.)


• Successful completion of WHIMIS and Occupational Health and Safety workshops.
