Job summary

The University of Ottawa invites applications for a Teaching Assistant/Demonstrator/Lab Monitor (CUPE) for Organic Chemistry I (CHM1321). Work is in person at the Main Campus with a January 1, 2027 start and a complete term through April 30, 2027.

Up to 10 positions are available; hourly pay ranges reflect undergraduate and graduate levels. Hours include preparation, student contact, and training, totaling approximately 65 hours over the term.

• Candidate must have 1 full year of organic chemistry.
• Completion of CHM 2120/2123 or equivalents is required.
• WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety workshops completed.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidate must have 1 full year of general chemistry, 1 full year of organic chemistry, CHM 2120/2123 or their equivalents.

All those who are not a Chemistry graduate student will be required to write a test to qualify. (Unless already done in previous semester.)

Successful completion of WHIMIS and Occupational Health and Safety workshops.
