The University of Ottawa is seeking 10 Teaching Assistants for the Winter 2026 session at the Main Campus, Faculty of Science. You will assist students in CHM3526 laboratory sections, grade reports, and supervise exams, while ensuring safety protocols are applied in labs.

Sections may be bilingual and work runs January–April 2027. Applicants should have completed specified chemistry courses, WHMIS and OHSA training, and pass a qualification test if not a graduate student.

Formación

  • The candidate must have completed one year of general chemistry, one year of organic chemistry, and one 4000-level organic chemistry course or equivalents.
  • WHMIS training and OHSA workshop completed.
  • Non-graduate students must pass a qualification test to be eligible.

Undergraduate students will be paid at the lower rate; while graduate students will be paid at the higher rate.

These rates do not include vacation pay nor statutory pay.

Minimum Requirements

  • The candidate must have successfully completed one year of general chemistry, one year of organic chemistry, and one 4000-level organic chemistry course, or their equivalents.
  • Candidates must have successfully completed the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training and the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) workshop.
  • Anyone who is not a graduate student (Master's or PhD) in Chemistry must pass a qualification test in order to be eligible.
