Job summary

OH! ZZHU SAM KOREAN RESTAURANT is seeking a kitchen professional to join our on-site team in Burnaby. You will estimate supplies costs, manage inventory, and lead cooks in preparing and presenting Korean dishes for daily service and special events.

ideal candidates have 2–3 years of kitchen experience and a trades certificate or diploma (or equivalent). This role requires hands-on leadership in a busy restaurant environment.

Qualifications

• 2 years to less than 3 years of kitchen/cook experience.
• Certificate or diploma in a trade or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Estimate amount and costs of supplies and food items.
• Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory.
• Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to staff.
• Create new recipes.
• Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food.
• Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff.
• Prepare and cook food regularly or for special guests or functions.
• Prepare and cook meals or specialty foods.
• Requisition food and kitchen supplies.
• Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs.
• Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards.
• Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food.
