Job summary

Vancouver Island Health Authority is seeking a Casual Cook to support kitchen and patient areas. Under supervision, you prepare food items by roasting, frying, grilling, steaming, poaching, boiling and baking and set up trays, portions out food, delivers, collects and unloads meal service wagons.

You will operate the dishwashing machine and perform cleaning duties. Graduation from a recognized 12-month program in cooking and strong communication and physical ability are required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a recognized 12-month program in cooking or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to deal with others effectively.

Responsibilities
