Job summary

Kensington Health in Ontario is seeking a Late Cook/Breakfast Cook/Dinner Cook to provide the highest quality meals to residents and staff in our long-term care facility. Responsible for safe food handling and maintaining sanitation per Ontario Regulation 243/84.

This casual employment offers shifts from 12pm to 6pm or 10:30am to 6:30pm, with hours varying by week to meet department needs. Successful candidates will bring 1+ year of food service experience and a food handler's card where

Qualifications

Clear and professional communication with coworkers and management.
Thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Able to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, weekends and holidays.
A food handler’s card is required where local regulations apply.
At least 1 year of food service/hospitality experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare food items consistently and adhere to recipe standards.
Complete kitchen tasks such as food preparation for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner.
Prepare meals for texture-modified diets: Minced, Pureed.
Sandwich preparation.
Complete catering orders as needed.
Maintain a safe working environment by using proper food handling skills and food safety guidelines.
Adhere to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
Set up stations with all necessary supplies; rotate all products properly.
Hours and schedule will vary by week depending on department needs.
