Job summary

Southbridge Care Homes in Lucknow, ON is seeking a Cook for a part-time role. You will prepare meals for residents following standardized recipes, ensure proper temperatures, and support dietary needs. Reports to the Food Service Manager.

The shift runs 9:30am–5:30pm, with opportunities to contribute to menu planning, portion control, and high-quality service in a compassionate team setting. Prior experience in institutional kitchens and ability to read diets are preferred; Red Seal is an asset

Qualifications

• Formal culinary training or certification that meets LTCH Act requirements.
• Cook certificate or qualification issued by an authority meeting LTCH Act.
• Post-secondary diploma in food and nutrition or related degree.
• Experience in institutional, health care, restaurant or hospitality cooking.

Responsibilities

• Review menus and set up equipment and supplies for food preparation.
• Prepare meals and nourishments following recipes and production sheets.
• Monitor temperatures and ensure proper portion control and timely service.
• Direct Dietary Aides in basic food prep and serving; cover manager absence.
• Maintain records of menu changes, deliveries and temperature checks.
