The role

The Cook will manage all aspects of food preparation and production in a sanitized environment, including ingredient prep, maintaining temperature logs, HACCP compliance, and proper labeling and rotation of food items.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Mise-en-place
• Cook food to standard portions and quantities
• Follow recipes and menu specifications
• Handle last-minute meal orders or menu changes due to flight delays
• Label foods with Day Stickers
• Ensure meals are prepared on time and properly blast chilled
• Maintain personal and food hygiene standards
• Monitor food temperatures within standard limits
• Train, supervise, and assign tasks to junior staff
• Ensure meals meet specifications and presentation standards
• Undertake additional duties as assigned
• Work efficiently under high pressure to meet deadlines
• Adhere to airline catering standards and accommodate dietary requirements

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

• High school diploma or GED required
• Experience with Western, Asian, and Middle Eastern cuisines required
• Culinary certification or degree preferred
• Red Seal certification encouraged
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in food service or restaurants
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment and safety practices
