Ideal-Child-Services-Group-1 is seeking a Contract Assistant Teacher for our Children Are People Child Care Centre in Toronto. The role is full-time with a contract length to be determined and requires certifications in First Aid/CPR, a clear VSC, and public health immunization compliance.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement an Early Childhood Program per governing agency requirements.
• Maintain room control with positive behaviour management strategies.
• Communicate professionally with children, staff and parents, and with governing agencies.
• Work independently or in a team to support children of all ages, with Toddler experience preferred.

Job description

Established multi-site Childcare Operator seeks a Contract Assistant Teacher for a vacant position at our Children Are People Child Care Centre location.

Position:

Contract - Full-Time - length of contract to be determined

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Current certification in Standard First Aid and CPR – AED Level C
• Current and Clear Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC)
• Complete Toronto Public Health Medical and Immunization requirements

Skills Required:

• Warm and Energetic individual who has the ability to work with Children of all ages, experience with Toddler age group is an asset.
• Must possess strong initiative and organizational skills and have a positive attitude
• Dependable and Flexible - arrives on time and ready to commence work as scheduled
• Communicate effectively and professionally with Children, Staff and Parents, IC SG Management, and any other Governing Agencies
• Must have general knowledge of Childcare Operations and an ability to comply with all the requirements from CCEYA/AQI/TPH/ICSG [incl. TDSB Policies and Procedures for sites located in TDSB]
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as in a team environment.
• Has the ability to implement an Early Childhood Program as per requirements set out by governing agencies
• Maintain Room control with positive Behaviour Management Strategies
• Ability to plan and implement a program

Assets:

• Working Knowledge of the Lillio Application (Parent Portal)
• Experience with laptop/tablet use to program and record Children’s profiles
• Early Childhood Education Diploma or Equivalency (not required)
• ECA Certificate (Not required)
• Any relevant experience working with Children (not required)

Hours of work:

• 8 hours/day [40 hours/week]
• Centre Hours of Operation are 7:00am – 6:00pm
