ICSG seeks a permanent Assistant Teacher for Children Are People Child Care Centre. This full-time 5-hour float position covers breaks and lunches, with ratio coverage across rooms.

The role requires a warm, energetic individual capable of independent work and team collaboration. Candidates should have or pursue an Early Childhood Education Diploma or equivalent, with preference for applicants familiar with CCEYA/AQI/TPH guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work with children of all ages and adapt to varying room assignments.
• Strong initiative, organization, and reliability are required.
• Ability to implement an Early Childhood Program per governing agency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide 5-hour float coverage across rooms to maintain ratios.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities and programs.
• Maintain positive behaviour management and room control.

Job description

Established multi-site Childcare Operator seeks a Permanent Assistant Teacher position at our Children Are People Child Care Centre location.

Position: Full Time - 5 hour Float position (covering various rooms for breaks, lunches and ratio coverage)

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Current certification in Standard First Aid and CPR – AED Level C
• Current and Clear Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC)
• Complete Toronto Public Health Medical and Immunization requirements

Skills Required:

• Warm and Energetic individual who has the ability to work with Children of all ages, experience with any age group is an asset.
• Must possess strong initiative and organizational skills and have a positive attitude
• Dependable and Flexible - arrives on time and ready to commence work as scheduled
• Communicate effectively and professionally with Children, Staff and Parents, ICSC Management, and any other Governing Agencies
• Must have general knowledge of Childcare Operations and an ability to comply with all the requirements from CCEYA/AQI/TPH/ICSG [incl. TDSB Policies and Procedures for sites located in TDSB]
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as in a team environment.
• Has the ability to implement an Early Childhood Program as per requirements set out by governing agencies
• Maintain Room control with positive Behaviour Management Strategies
• Ability to plan and implement a program

Assets:

• Working Knowledge of the Lillio Application (Parent Portal)
• Experience with laptop/tablet use to program and record Children’s profiles
• Early Childhood Education Diploma or Equivalency (not required)
• ECA Certificate (Not required)
• Any relevant experience working with Children (not required)

Hours of work:

• 5 hours/day [40 hours/week]
• Centre Hours of Operation are 7:00am - 6:00pm
