Job summary

ICSG is seeking an Assistant Teacher for the Children Are People Child Care Centre. The successful candidate will work full-time in our Toronto location, following CCEYA/AQI/TPH/ICSG requirements and ensuring a safe, engaging early childhood program.

Requires First Aid/CPR, VSC clearance, and immunization compliance. Responsibilities include planning activities, maintaining room order, and effective communication with children, families, staff and authorities.

Qualifications

• Current Standard First Aid and CPR with AED Level C.
• Clear Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC).
• Complete Toronto Public Health Medical and Immunization requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement an Early Childhood Program per governing agencies.
• Maintain room control with positive behaviour management strategies.
• Communicate effectively with children, staff and parents; liaise with management and agencies.
• Work independently when needed and in a team environment.

Job description

Established multi-site Childcare Operator seeks an Assistant Teacher for a vacant position at our Children Are People Child Care Centre location.

Position:

Full Time

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Current certification in Standard First Aid and CPR - AED Level C
• Current and Clear Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC)
• Complete Toronto Public Health Medical and Immunization requirements

Skills Required:

• Warm and Energetic individual who has the ability to work with Children of all ages, experience with any age group is an asset.
• Must possess strong initiative and organizational skills and have a positive attitude
• Dependable and Flexible - arrives on time and ready to commence work as scheduled
• Communicate effectively and professionally with Children, Staff and Parents, ICSC Management, and any other Governing Agencies
• Must have general knowledge of Childcare Operations and an ability to comply with all the requirements from CCEYA/AQI/TPH/ICSG [incl. TDSB Policies and Procedures for sites located in TDSB]
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as in a team environment.
• Has the ability to implement an Early Childhood Program as per requirements set out by governing agencies
• Maintain Room control with positive Behaviour Management Strategies
• Ability to plan and implement a program

Assets:

• Working Knowledge of the Lillio Application (Parent Portal)
• Experience with laptop/tablet use to program and record Children’s profiles
• Early Childhood Education Diploma or Equivalency (not required)
• ECA Certificate (Not required)
• Any relevant experience working with Children (not required)

Hours of work:

• 8 hours/day [40 hours/week]
• Centre Hours of Operation are 7:00am - 6:00pm
