Job summary

Ideal-Child-Services-Group-1 in Toronto is seeking a part-time Early Childhood Educator to support children in a dynamic classroom. The role emphasizes safety, positive behaviour management, and engaging activities.

You will collaborate with staff, communicate with parents, and adhere to CCEYA/TPH policies. The ideal candidate holds first aid certification and can follow schedules in a center that operates 7:00am–6:00pm.

Qualifications

• Current certification in Standard First Aid and CPR – AED Level C
• Clear Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC)
• Toronto Public Health Medical and Immunization requirements
• Ability to work with children of all ages and maintain a positive attitude
• Strong initiative and organizational skills; able to work independently or in a team
• Knowledge of CCEYA/AQI/TPH/ICSG policies and procedures

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing an Early Childhood Program per governing requirements
• Maintain room control with positive behaviour management strategies
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities and programs
• Communicate effectively with children, staff, and parents
• Collaborate with team and operate independently as needed

Position:

Part - Time

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Current certification in Standard First Aid and CPR – AED Level C
• Current and Clear Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC)
• Complete Toronto Public Health Medical and Immunization requirements

Skills Required:

• Warm and Energetic individual who has the ability to work with Children of all ages, experience with any age group is an asset.
• Must possess strong initiative and organizational skills and have a positive attitude
• Dependable and Flexible - arrives on time and ready to commence work as scheduled
• Communicate effectively and professionally with Children, Staff and Parents, ICSC Management, and any other Governing Agencies
• Must have general knowledge of Childcare Operations and an ability to comply with all the requirements from CCEYA/AQI/TPH/ICSG [incl. TDSB Policies and Procedures for sites located in TDSB]
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as in a team environment.
• Has the ability to implement an Early Childhood Program as per requirements set out by governing agencies
• Maintain Room control with positive Behaviour Management Strategies
• Ability to plan and implement a program

Assets:

• Working Knowledge of the Lillio Application (Parent Portal)
• Experience with laptop/tablet use to program and record Children’s profiles
• Early Childhood Education Diploma or Equivalency (not required)
• ECA Certificate (Not required)
• Any relevant experience working with Children (not required)

Hours of work:

• 8 hours/day [40 hours/week]
• Centre Hours of Operation are 7:00am – 6:00pm
