Job summary

ICSG is seeking an Assistant Supervisor for the Baycrest Child Care Centre location. This contract position entails supporting centre operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and coordinating with staff, parents and governing agencies.

The role requires an ECE diploma or equivalency, active registration in good standing, and current First Aid/CPR. Candidates must pass a VSC and meet health requirements; availability to work 40 hours/week withinCentre hours 7:00am–6:00pm is required.

Qualifications

• Early Childhood Education Diploma or Equivalency required.
• Registered and in Good Standing with The College of Early Childhood Education.
• Current certification in Standard First Aid and CPR – AED Level C.
• Current and Clear Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC).
• Complete Toronto Public Health Medical and Immunization requirements.
• Warm and energetic with ability to work with children of all ages.
• Initiative and organizational skills with a positive attitude.
• Compliance with CCEYA, Public Health, TDSB, AQI, ICSG policies and Staff Code of Conduct.
• Dependable and flexible; on time and ready to commence work as scheduled.
• Effective and professional communication with children, staff, parents and agencies.
• Knowledge of Childcare Operations and ability to operate the Centre in the absence of the Supervisor.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Ability to implement an Early Childhood Program per governing guidelines.
• Maintain room control with positive behaviour management.
• Plan and implement ECE programs for all ages.
• Strong English language skills; written and spoken.
• Excellent writing skills for memos, letters and reports.
• Accurate record keeping.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word for documents and Microsoft Excel for data and inventory.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising child care operations and centre activities.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Communicate with staff, parents and agencies; support program planning and implementation.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare communications as needed.
• Assist in implementing Early Childhood Education programs and behaviour management strategies.

Established multi-site Childcare Operator seeks an Assistant Supervisor for a vacant position at the Baycrest Child Care Centre location.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Early Childhood Education Diploma or Equivalency
• Registered and in Good Standing with The College of Early Childhood Education

Skills Required:

• Warm and Energetic individual who has the ability to work with Children of all ages, experience with age group is an asset.
• Must possess strong initiative and organizational skills and have a positive attitude
• Must comply and enforce with Teacher/s all the requirements of the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), Public Health, Toronto District School Board, Assessment for Quality Improvement, Ideal Child Services Group Policies and Procedures including Staff Code of Conduct;
• Dependable and Flexible - arrives on time and ready to commence work as scheduled
• Communicate effectively and professionally with Children, Staff and Parents, ICSG Management, and any other Governing Agencies
• Must have general knowledge of Childcare Operations and have the ability to operate the Centre in the absence of the Supervisor
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as in a team environment.
• Has the ability to implement an Early Childhood Program as per requirements set out by governing agencies
• Maintain Room control with positive Behaviour Management Strategies
• Ability to plan and implement an Early Childhood Education program for all ages
• Strong command of the English language (both spoken and written)
• Excellent writing skills which include the ability to draft communication to Parents, Staff and Governing Agencies
• Ability to maintain accurate record keeping
• Proficient in Microsoft Word for creating and formatting documents, including memos, letters and reports.
• Skilled in using Microsoft Excel for data entry, organizing information and creating spreadsheets for tracking expenses or inventory.

Hours of work:

• 8 hours/day [40 hours/week]
• Centre Hours of Operation are 7:00am – 6:00pm
